Forestry field technician - temporary full time
There is currently an opening for a temporary field technician, to work full-time from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, 2011. The job will entail measuring young trees, and making measurements of herbaceous vegetation on recently reclaimed mine sites. Much of the work will be outdoors, under rough conditions and in all types of weather. There will also be some lab work, primarily data entry, and work with spreadsheets and image files. A current drivers license is required. Some background in forestry, environmental science, biology, or related field is desirable. Experience with data management and plant identification are desirable, but not required. Compensation will be between $8-12 per hour, depending on experience.
